Industrial Development Commission of Mexicali Receives Certification from the International Economic Development Council (IEDC)
IEDC is pleased to announce the accreditation of the Industrial Development Commission of Mexicali, Baja California, Mexico, the AEDO program’s first international organization. The organization works to promote Mexicali as a trade and investment destination, attracting and retaining companies that contribute to the sustainable industrial and social development of the community.
The Industrial Development Commission of Mexicali (Mexicali CDI) has earned its International Economic Development Council (IEDC) certification and is the first organization from not only Mexico but all of Latin America to do so.
With the constant fluctuation in today’s global economy, key executives search for ways to remain competitive. The IEDC recognizes Mexicali as an optimal location for investment opportunities that meet world-class standards. The IEDC is comprised of more than 4,600 international professionals and is the largest organization associated with world economic development.
“We are very pleased with the success of our organization. The certification recognizes our excellence, capacity, image and credibility, which are all essential factors for the attraction and retention of the Mexicali CDI” expressed Manuel Rubio, President of the Mexicali CDI.
The certification process consisted of two phases. After the Mexicali CDI received approval relative to its mission, vision, values, finances, strategic and marketing plans, the IEDC sent specialists to directly evaluate its performance and the current position of Mexicali’s business climate. Specialists from the IEDC evaluated its leadership, financial sources, the community’s commitment to the CDI, its future plans and long-term goals.
“The CDI is an impressive organization that has a long history of deep community support, reflecting outstanding leadership in the private sector and industrial community. It is committed to professionalism when servicing its memebers, the attraction of prospects, as well as companies that bring business to Mexicali,” explained Jeffrey A. Finkle and Robert L. Gonzalez, specialists with the Certified Economic Developer Program. Estrada y Asociados congratulates the Mexicali CDI for this impressive achievement.
These organizations display the professionalism, commitment to economic development, and technical expertise deserving of the distinction. They join 25 economic development organizations recognized nationwide for excellence in economic development.
